Apple Pie, Honey, Currant
Miwu from Mt. Elgon tastes like dessert in a cup, think apple pie with currants and a drizzle of honey, yum!
Traditionally known for robusta, Square Mile Coffee Roaster has seen more industry partners turn their attention towards Uganda's Arabica producers in recent years. An origin to watch, Uganda's Arabica production is concentrated in two main areas. The east, bordering Kenya, primarily producing washed coffees. And the southwest, jutting up against Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, known for natural process coffees. Miwu is the combined micro lot of 71 smallholder farmers delivering to The Coffee Gardens Washing Station located on the slopes of Mt. Elgon in Uganda's Eastern province. A small processing station, The Gardens Washing Station, does remarkable work around the transparency and traceability of coffee while offering off-season training to farmers, including good agricultural practices, agroforestry, and financial management. All too tasty, with a baked sweetness, honey texture and currant finish, Miwu is one to keep an eye on!
